This image took a great deal of time to create, it is composed of a self portrait and a powerbox that was laid bare. I used photoshop to crop/manipulate colours on the originals. I then used the self portrait as the background image and applied the powerbox image on top. From this point on it took approximately three hours to get it 'right'. I had to fade parts of both images so they would line up correctly, and digitally remove a tattoo that is located just below my collar bone on my right side. I was listening to the deftones on my mp3 player and going outside to smoke, i am positive i looked crazed during this process. I was blown away when i finally finished this photo.

Everyone has a dark side to them, without the dark there would be no light, without the light there would be no dark.

This is one of my favorite poems, i memorized it when i was 14 or so, oh puberty what a great time **wink**

Edgar Allan Poe

From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were; I have not seen
As others saw; I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I loved, I loved alone.
Then- in my childhood, in the dawn
Of a most stormy life- was drawn
From every depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still:
From the torrent, or the fountain,
From the red cliff of the mountain,
From the sun that round me rolled
In its autumn tint of gold,
From the lightning in the sky
As it passed me flying by,
From the thunder and the storm,
And the cloud that took the form
When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view.
